Susquehanna University, Garrett Center Natatorium Conditions Assessment
CHA conducted a visual inspection of Susquehanna University’s James W. Garrett Natatorium to assess the facility’s conditions and provide recommendations for its improvement. The swimming pool was determined to be in good overall condition, with no indication of serious structural or functional concerns. The main elements needing improvement included minor repairs in and around the swimming pool, concrete deck and tile restoration, modified ADA access into the swimming pool, and repairs to the pool’s mechanical systems, which were nearing the end of their expected useful life. CHA also evaluated the 35-year-old pool piping connected to the main drains and gutter supply and drain converters. Additionally, CHA completed the pipe assessment using current pipe scoping equipment, which found the pipes in good overall condition.
