RED-Rochester On-Site Energy Manager Program

Located in the heart of Rochester, Recycled Energy Development, LLC (RED-Rochester) is a multi-generational plant and district energy supplier that powers the extensive 1,200-acre campus at Eastman Business Park (EPB). Managing 28 structures and delivering uninterrupted utility services to over 70 occupants, RED-Rochester aimed to reduce its energy consumption by 3.5%.

In pursuit of this target, CHA assumed the role of the on-site energy manager through a pilot program initiated by the New York State Energy Research Development Authority (NYSERDA). Our team identified over 100 energy conservation projects. This positioned RED-Rochester's utility assets and EPB to attract clients, provide competitive services, and enhance energy conservation. With an overall site efficiency rating of 54.23%, an improvement of 3.26%, the initiative achieved annual savings totaling 517,341 MMBtu HHV.
