Martha's Vineyard Airport Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility

Martha’s Vineyard Airport needed to act quickly to replace its 40-year-old aircraft rescue and firefighting facility while maintaining high levels of airport security and staying within budget. As Owner’s Project Manager, CHA provided an innovative prefabricated construction approach to reduce building costs for the 17,000 SF facility. The new building features offices, air traffic control, rescue personnel training and support areas, and 12 apparatus bays for rescue fire equipment and vehicles.

With airport security as a top priority, CHA successfully established protocols restricting access to authorized individuals, created visual and physical barriers, and maintained restrictions on egress points throughout construction. Our team also worked closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to verify that the building met all categorizations for reimbursement while adhering to FAA and Homeland Security requirements. Opening on time and under budget, Martha’s Vineyard Airport is ready for take-off.
