LIMA Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Facility

CHA conducted planning and design of a new aircraft rescue firefighting facility (ARFF) and demolition of the old air traffic control tower (ATCT) at Long Island MacArthur Airport (LIMA). This project included topographic surveying and mapping; siting and response time analysis; and site/civil, architectural and utilities design. The design team performed site analysis of six potential locations for the new ARFF and worked closely with the FAA New York Airports District Office (NYADO) on determination of eligibility and approval of a conceptual design.
