Kent County, Sports Complex
CHA provided site analysis and design for a regional field sports complex. The project design required coordination with future DelDOT plans for road improvements in the area. The facility is situated on approximately 100 leased acres of a 600 acre Kent County-owned parcel. The project includes 12 fields and one stadium field with seating for about 1,000. The facility was designed to meet the needs of the local sports community and function as host to regional and national youth tournaments in multiple field sports, including soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. The stadium field was designed for expansion and included associated parking. The fields are synthetic turf and five lighted. Several small restroom and concession buildings were placed throughout the property. The facility also includes a building to house meeting rooms, offices, locker rooms, kitchenette, restrooms, storage, and concession area. A maintenance building includes an office, meeting room, equipment storage, material bins, fenced service yard, and fuel storage.
