First Wind/Reed & Reed, Inc. Wind Projects

To augment renewable resources and achieve Maine's decarbonization objectives, CHA played a pivotal role in wind projects at both the Rollins Wind Farm and Stetson Wind Farm.

CHA assessed the drawing and specification packages at Rollins Wind Farm, with 40 GE 1.5 MW turbines, in response to modifications in the alignment of collector lines from the original permitted design. This evaluation encompassed code compliance, construction feasibility, identification of value engineering opportunities, and adherence to industry best practices. The objective was to restore the alignment to its original permitted design.

CHA undertook an in-depth arc flash hazard analysis at Stetson Wind Farm with 55 GE 1.5 MW turbines, encompassing identification of system operating modes and conditions that could impact short circuit currents and arc flash hazard energy levels. Our team conducted a comprehensive arc flash hazard analysis study aimed at determining arc flash energy levels and recommending suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and provided recommendations for arc flash labels for each analyzed bus within the arc flash hazard analysis.
