Emergency Response

CHA has worked closely with MassDEP environmental on-call contractors for many years. We have responded to a wide variety of sudden releases from an array of sources, including commercial vehicles, home owner heating oil tanks, railroads, and boats sinking. Typical response actions to these events involve the application of absorbents, excavation of soils, water removal, etc.

We have addressed releases that have impacted soils groundwater, sediments, surface water, indoor air, and soil gas. Many institutions, transportation firms, contractors, and rail companies depend on CHA to respond to the sudden release of petroleum-based products as wells as hazardous materials. We maintain strong relationships with many regulators and utilize a wide variety of risk characterizations to creatively resolve releases with them. We also work closely with numerous operators and insurance companies to quickly resolve these releases and minimize submittal fees.
