Clarence E. Morgan Complex
CHA provided master planning and design services for a new 120-acre central sports complex for Effingham County Recreation and Parks Department. Master planning services included a three-phase plan for construction of the complex to match anticipated SPLOST funding.
CHA prepared construction documents for Phase 1 in 2016, and a Construction Manager at Risk was selected. Construction of Phase 1 began in Fall 2016 and was completed at the end of 2017. Phase 1 includes two 335-foot baseball fields, three 225-foot baseball fields, sports lighting for the five fields, covered bleachers, a field support building with concessions, public restrooms, offices and storage, a picnic pavilion, ADA-accessible playground, and a maintenance building.
Funding also allowed for construction of four covered and lighted batting tunnels with adjacent restrooms as an addition to Phase 1.
