New York State Office of Mental Health -- Bronx, New York
CHA provided security contract documents and construction administration services for the Bronx Mental Health redevelopment project, which consisted of the following new buildings within the campus: a 86-bed children’s facility, a 96-bed transitional living residence, a 44-bed crisis residence, a 48-bed studio residence, a 156-bed adult facility, and a central service building. CHA’s security construction documents included the design of a complete upgrade to the access control system, closed circuit television systems (CCTV), personal alarm system, commercial sally ports, security entry doors/revolving doors, key control, pedestrian sally ports, a safety office, and a pharmacy.
Security systems were designed to the New York State Office of Mental Health's Statewide Physical Security Standards. All work was documented using Building Information Modeling (BIM), which enhanced visualization of the design and provided clash detection and final coordination between design models.
