54-Inch PCCP and HDPE Force Main
This large diameter, 54" PCCP force main for the City of Miami Beach serves as the marquee project in our roster exhibiting our Team's commitment to ensuring that all our client's concerns are addressed. In this project, a 54" redundant force main was installed along Euclid Avenue. The force main was a crucial component for the City of Miami Beach to improve the quality of service in this touristic area. The project was completed over covered three different phases:
During Phase I a 54" PCCP force main was installed running along Washington Ave from Commerce Street to Commerce Court. The scope of services for this phase included the design and construction of approximately 191 LF of the 54" PCCP force main via open cut installation.
Phase II began with the installation of a 30" ductile iron force main at the intersection of 11th Street and Meridian Court. Following this, a 36" ductile iron and 54" PCCP force main was installed along 11th Street up to Meridian Avenue where it connected to the third phase. Additionally, a 24" FM was installed to connecting to Pump Station #1. This phase included the design and construction of 405 LF of different sizes of force mains; The installations in the phase were done via open cut.
The gap between Phase I and II was filled by Phase III. This phase installed a 54" HDPE Force Main along Euclid Avenue from 11th Street to Washington Avenue and along Washington Avenue from Euclid Avenue to Commerce Court. The scope of services for this section of the project included the design and construction of approximately 4,450 LF of 54" HDPE force main installed by Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). A connection to Pump Station #31 was included in this phase.
Extensive coordination was required for this incredibly complex in order to facilitate a clear path through multiple existing underground facilities. along Euclid Avenue. Work on this project never stopped and thanks to constant communication with the contractor, our team was able to deliver the project within the extremely tight schedule.
