Marlboro Music Reich Hall Wins 2023 AIA Architecture Award

Posted April 14, 2023

The Marlboro Music Reich Hall Rehearsal Building and Music Library has won a 2023 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Architecture Award. The national program celebrates outstanding contemporary architecture and highlights how the building and spaces created by architects improve lives. HGA was the lead architect and engineer on the project. As a sub consultant, CHA performed civil/site engineering services.

Nestled in Vermont’s rolling hills, the new Jerome and Celia Bertin Reich Rehearsal Building and Music Library provides world-class rehearsal studios, a music library, staff offices, and common areas to support the celebrated Marlboro Music program, a seven-week retreat for the world’s most talented classical musicians hosted since 1951. Inspired by the dwellings of 17th-century English settlers, the sustainable gabled building is designed with four pitched-form roofs, simple wood surfaces, and integrated building systems that are nearly indetectable.

The award will be presented at the AIA Conference on Architecture held on June 7 – 10, 2023, in San Francisco, California.
