Did you know that every year thousands of people face severe eye injuries including blindness because they were not wearing appropriate eye protection? Safety glasses are worn to prevent foreign objects and chemicals from entering the eye. Below are helpful tips to prevent potential eye injuries.

  • When working with liquid hazards, consider safety goggles or a splash guard to prevent any splash hazards from entering your eyes.
  • If you wear prescription glasses you will need a pair of over the glasses or “OTG” safety glasses or prescription safety glasses.
  • During summer months, it is important to protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Safety glasses that are tinted are recommended if you’ll be performing outside work.
