We cANT Do It Alone!

Posted March 17, 2017

Each year, CHA employees put on a can-do attitude at the Capital Region CANstruction, an annual exhibit and design competition where the architecture, engineering and construction industry puts its talent to work CANstructing imaginative structures entirely out of canned food items. The CANstructions remain on display on the fourth floor of the New York State Museum from March 8-22, 2017. Visitors are encouraged to bring canned goods to vote for their favorite CANstruction. All proceeds benefit The Food Pantries for The Capital District.

This year’s theme was GO TEAM! CHA engineered an award-winning ant farm for our “cANT Do It Alone” theme. The ant farm was awarded Best Original Design. This new award replaces the Jurors’ Favorite and celebrates the team that uniquely highlights the skills of the AEC Industry in the overall design and construction of its CANstructure.

We raised more than $8,000 and have been able to give almost five thousand food items and a substantial monetary donation to the Food Pantries. Thank you Emily Handelman, Julie Thompson, Heather Wyld, Danielle Bargovic, Evan Butterfield, Matt Cuevas, Antonio D'Elia, Glenn Easton, Michelle Garrah, Jody Lounsbury (former CHA employee), Ryan Henderson, Jim Horton, Lance Hunt, Greg Jeffers (former CHA employee), Brian Marx, Mark Patti, Caitlyn Pratt, Tara Riggs, Sean Ryan, Doug Sullivan, and Bill Whimple for all your support! Congratulations on the win!
