Albany Pedestrian Bridge
The Partners & Principals of Clough, Harbour & Associates LLP (CHA) are pleased to announce that the Hudson River Pedestrian Bridge in the City of Albany, New York was recently selected to receive the New York Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Project of the Year Award in the Structures category. The award promotes excellence in the management and administration of public works projects by recognizing the partnership between the managing agency and the participating consultants and contractors.
The Pedestrian Bridge project was also awarded the New York State Society of Professional Engineers’ Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award at their annual Awards & Installation Dinner in May.
The project involved the design and construction of a five-span pedestrian bridge linking downtown Albany to the riverfront. This structure crosses two City streets, I-787 Northbound and Southbound, and the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The construction value of this project was $6.15 Million.
